Jigsaw Puzzle Cutting Styles

Sometimes the complexity of a design or the wood selected for a puzzle can suggest a particular cutting style. Jill's puzzles can be designed in a myriad of ways - yielding endless possibilities. Shall she cut the puzzles into many tiny pieces or use large and complex pieces? Should the pieces interlock or not?

Jill's newest cutting style showcases interlocking, curvilinear medium-sized jigsaw puzzle pieces. These typically exhibit 1-2 pieces per square inch. Whether her designs are complex or display Jill's unique cutting abilities, every puzzle is fun and challenging to assemble time after time.

Each puzzle in The Wooden Wizard's gallery is a one-of-a-kind design. All designs are permanently engraved; the images and colors used are integral, durable and lasting aspects of the wood.

Customized Puzzle Orders Are Available

If you have an idea for a puzzle that you would like Jill to customize just for you, please e-mail or call her directly. You will need to provide Jill with a drawing or photograph of your idea. Include an approximate size and shape, and the number of pieces and colors you wish to have incorporated.

Creating original puzzle designs, engraving the wood, and hand coloring and cutting each piece is extremely time and labor intensive. Custom jigsaw puzzles take 4-6 weeks to complete. However, your patience will be rewarded with a truly stunning original that will be enjoyed for generations.

NOTE: The Wooden Wizard does not make jigsaw puzzles using a photograph glued directly onto a piece of wood.

All puzzles and their frame come assembled and sealed in shrink-wrap. You can display your sealed fine art jigsaw puzzle on an easel, mount on a wall, or open and construct it. Every puzzle comes with a label that includes its title, the number of pieces, the date, and Jill's signature on the back of the frame.

The Wooden Wizard's puzzles are made primarily for adult enthusiasts and fine art collectors who admire the craftswomanship and enjoy the challenge and fun of assembly. Please do not give these puzzles to young children who might accidently swallow the small pieces.
